We are now able to supply nest boxes for your swift projects. Our boxes are made
from pressure treated wood that should last a long time if kept tucked up under
eaves out of the rain. I have boxes exposed now for many years without any sign
of deterioration
All boxes come with a concave.

with your address written on the back of the box
Round or oval
hole?
There are two opions for the entrance hole. One is
the traditional oval entrance 30mm high x 60mm wide. This keeps out all
birds except tits, sparrows and starlings. If you're very lucky sand martins
might move in. Th other is 45mm round entrance which I prefer. It allows a
quick access for the returning swift. They literally fly straight in. The
downside is it is large enough for starlings to enter. These
must be closed all winter
until the 3rd week of April. I use reinforced parcel tape. I know of one
case where the starling/s removed regular tape. By late April starlings will
be nesting elsewhere.
